The good news in a nutshell: Both iray interactive and iray photoreal are much much faster now for geometry heavy scenes, and using instancing (i.e. to be able to use much larger and more detailed scenes) is way cheaper in addition.
On top of the good news we optimized some parts of iray interactive to render faster on all GPUs, so one can expect a 2x speedup for most scenes even on non-RTX cards.
Things do not stop there though, as iray photoreal also got a free ~2x speedup when using the CPU for rendering.
